BRIT BENNETT sinh ra và lớn lên tại Nam California, tốt nghiệp Đại học Stanford và sau đó lấy bằng Thạc sĩ Nghệ thuật Đại học Michigan.

Cô giành giải thưởng Hopwood trong khuôn khổ Tiểu thuyết ngắn tốt nghiệp và giải thưởng Hurston/Wright năm 2014 tại hạng mục Tác giả Bậc Đại học.
